Ross-on-Wye Choral Society was founded in 1967 and over its 40 and more years has established a reputation for excellent performance of a broadly-based repertoire ranging from the great choral works to lesser-known pieces including some by local composers. It enjoys the support of a loyal audience for whom a Society concert is something not to be missed.
The Society performs three major concerts a year, joined by professional soloists and accompanists and at at least once a year by a professional orchestra.
The Choral Society is currently enjoying its first term with Russell Burton as Musical Director.
Our President is Jane Gibson and the Society is grateful for the generous funding received from the Gibson Trust, which enables us to perform with professional musicians and orchestras. Current Vice-Presidents include past Musical Directors Ron Smith, John Handley and most recently Ian Fox.
